The Middle Green Valley Specific Plan was the result of a successful, collaborative effort that captured a moment in time when community representatives were able to come together to develop a shared vision. That vision was for an agriculturally centered community founded on conserving a remarkable landscape, based on a stewardship ethic. The Green Valley Agricultural Conservancy was born out of this effort and emerged as one of the key elements in implementing the community plan. The Conservancy acts as an objective body in overseeing the management and monitoring of the natural and agricultural resources as well as the build-out of the community. This was an extraordinary opportunity for neighbors, landowners and local agencies to have an open dialogue about long-term interests, and understand how financial, environmental, and cultural aspects of a community plan fit together.
